INKSCAPE: (Free Vector Art Software)

Luckily, most clients do provide vector artwork when they need imprints on promotional products. However, what do you do when a smaller company only has a business card, or perhaps just a .gif or .jpg image of their logo?
If your company has the funds and experience, you could use some professional quality software, such as Adobe Illustrator, to recreate the logo in proper vector art form, but that may be overkill (and expensive) if you don’t really need a high end graphic program very often.
So let's look for a budget conscious alternative... better still, how about FREE vector art software that does a pretty decent job!

InkScape is actually pretty robust when it comes to converting (vector tracing) logos, and you can then save the result in .eps, .pdf, and other file formats which may be usable for product imprints. Better still, it can save you additional art charges from having somebody else doing the art conversions.
It may not be the complete solution when your client doesn’t have proper artwork for submitting, but your company can sure look like a hero to them when you’re able to save the artwork day, and get their rush order done.
The software is FREE, so take advantage and try it out. It could just be enough to win over that next promotional product sale.
